Yesterday saw a record attendance at the Oval to witness the continuation of the cricket match between England and South Australia. On tbe former resting ing their innings Prince Ranjitsinhji showed better cricket than on the preceding day. He had, however, another "life " at 154, although the chance was a difficult one. Afterwards he punished the bowling hotly, and when Hearne and Storer got together the spectators were treated to a lively game. Stoddart, who is suffering from' a severe attack of influenza, did not bat. The Englishmen's innings closed for 475, exceeding the total of the South Australians in their first innings by 61.1 runs.

In tbe South Australian second innings Hill banged both Richardson and Hirst all over the field with great vim, but be bad two narrow escapes of being run out.
