COROMANDEL MINING.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
Cokomandel, this day
KapANGA.—The tributera in this mine from all accounts are likely to do well. On the surface tribute W. K. Wells and party have secured four pounds of specimens, which yielded when crushed £2S of bullion. There are now about 32 men in different sections of the mine on tribute, and others will be shortly taken up. Senior and party yesterday secured 81b specimens, estimated to go 2oz to the pound. J'krsky.—Driving on No. 1 reef has been steadily progressing, and gold was seen through the stone when it was broken down. The drive to cut No. 2 reef is now well advanced, and the lode should be at hand this week. A new leader was picked up on the surface last week higher up the spur than the present workings. The stone in this leader is very compact and flinty, but dabs of gold are seen in it. This will be further exploited.
Cornubia.—The crosscut to intersect a big reef is now in over 30 feet, and the lode should soon be at hand. The country remains still of a very favourable character.
