THREE STAR SPECIAL CLAIM.
(FROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.)
This property is in close proximity to the Golden Mounb, and is under bhe supervision of Mr James. There are five reefs running through the property, varying from 21 inches to 8 feeb in thickness. On three of bbc reefs no work beyond trenching has been done, while the other two are being driven on ab bhe presenb time. Tho No. 4 reef is a large body of stone aboub 8 i'eeb thick, and is in a splendid spur about the centre of tbe property. The reef has been driven on for about 35 feeb, and is a very compact body of stone. The quart? broken is of a very kindly quality, showing a good proporbion of manganese and iron pyrites. The reef is incased in country of a splendid character. The No. 5 reef haß been but recenbly discovered in a prospecting drive. Ab bhe present time ib is aboub 6fb in thickness, bub slightly mixed with the country. The quartz is of a whitish-brown nature, curly, and contain-1 manganese and iron pyrites. This quartz is very close-grained, and exceedingly hard. It is bhe intention of the manage-
ment to continue work on these reefs, as they appear to give tbe greatest encouragement.
