THE ENTRIES,
Last evening bhe Auckland Anniversary Regafeta Commibbee met at the Waitemata Hotel in order to receive entries fer tbe annual Regatta to be held next Friday. Anniversary Day. There was a large attendance of those iobefestad, bub the entries on the wbdle were diaappoiattag. For the champion whaleboab race there are no entries, neither are bbere any entriea for the large yachb race or bhe trading vessels race. Ib has been decided thab tbe Committee will receive further entries for the various events antil 9 p.m. on Monday aexb ab the Waitamata Hotel. A crew ot Waitara young ladies would have come up from Taranaki to take part in the ladies' whaleboa. race, bu* tbe steamer fare was considered excessive, therefore this event will be confined to Auckland crews. The pauciby of entries for bbc various rowing events is regrotbable, as it will be seen bhat neither the West End, St. George's or Auckland Rowing Clubs h_,d the enterprise to enter for more bhan one of bhe polling events on bhe progamme. The following entries weire received lasb nights— - Scow Race : Irene, Orate.. Yachbs (Class A); No entries. Trading Vessels; No entries. Yachts (Class C): Ida, Rangatin. Moana. Fishing Boats (Handicap): Chnstiaa, Cynisca, Dolphin, Venice. All-comers' Sailing Handicap: Rogue, Corina, Lilian, Awatea. Undine, Foam. Yachts (Class D): Rarere. Zinita, Mabaki, Windward.
