GOLCONDA.

Steady headway continues to be made with the two crosscuts from tho .No. 2 chamber, and within a few weeks ab tho outside we should hear of the desired intersection of the.reof now being driven for. No. 1 crosscub going wesb is now in over 50ft from the shaft, and tho two emajl parallel leaders ara being, carried in with the drive. The country continues of an excellent description, nnd possesses nil tho indications of a favourable nature for gold. It is expected that in another 10lt the leader in which gold waa seen by Mr Daldy ab the No. -i level, will bo at hand, the exact bearings having been taken recently at that point, when ib wua found to dip aboub four in six. The No. 2 crosscub, going aboub N.E., is in over,4oft, and ie being driven to intersect the Hauraki Nordi reef, which is, however, some distance in advance yeb. Some walor is ut presenb making in bho face, which very possibly may provo to como from onother quartz body in close proximity. A few days will decide the point, however. The country in this direction ie also of a lino blue, blocky sandstone, and it will certainly be a etrange thing if the oponing op of the roofs when intersected in thia channel'of country is nob productive of satisfactory results.
