There are 3 lot of quartz strineers in the face of th 6 drive, co that the leader should be close ab hand.

Occidental. —The drive on No. I leader is in 91fb. The leader in the second efcope weeb continues to show a little gold.

Moanataiari Extended.—A trial parcel of eight toHft of quartz from the No. 9 reef yialded loz 9dwts of gold. Although this looks small it will pay handsomely with such a large lode.

Bell Kock. —The reef at No. 1 level is about 6in thick, and shows a little gold. At No. 2 the reef is 4ft thick, and shows gold by pounding. In No. 3 level the reef is sft thick, and the middle of it gives the

Phcenix.—Good country is being met with in the Ascot section.

Golden Spakk.— I suspended work in the intermediate level, and am busy in cleaning out and trimming the creek lerel, where I shall bo able to make a fair start on the Bright) Smile reef. Here I hope to fall in with something good very_ shortly because this reef has not been driven 4ft past) the shot of gold gob by Reagan and party. Werk on Smithy lovel is going en steadily threneh nice country. Madgs (Kennedy's Bay).—A little gold is got in the main reef by pounding, but so far no gold has been seen in the atone. Good colours of gold can be got in a gully running into ,tbe centre of the ground. Trenching will be done here to cut the main reef. Pcriri.—No. 2 new leader has increased in size to about 12 inches in thickness and looks very promising. The quartz by pounding gives a very fair prospect of gold in the dish. The country in which it is encased is of a splendid description. Kialto.—We have finished the hut, and are still prospecting up the spur from the Trilby; we are finding plenty of reefs. The wsatber has been very wet all the week, and the tracks are in a very bad state.

Pride of Tokatea.—The second stope on the footwall lead is along IS feet in nice mineralised country, the lead is three inches thick, but we have net seen any gold this week. The rise is up 24 feet. The Rainbow End lead and tbe footwall lead have jun,£tioned here, making a nicelooking lead A five inches solid quartz. I have nob seen any gold this breaking down, though the lead prospects well. We are now engaged making a shoot here, so aB to handle the mullock mere easily. The intermediate level on the foobwull lead is now 26 feet in from the junction. The lead has been rather small, but has the appsarance of opening up again. There are prospects of gold in breaking down. 'ABfrVrn^ct'ifiosQ tjfee iatermtdiate Ut*l to
