KUAOTUNU NOTES.

The election of School Committees in this districb and also ab Whangapoua caused a good deal of local interesb. Mr H. P. Hornibrooko headed tho poll, cur local postmaster running, him close for second place, Mr Campboll again being selected as Chairman. Tho following gentlemen wero elected ab Whangapoua:—Mossrs J. Mclsaac, Frank Mclsaac, Smibh, Pulham, Welton, Brown. Mr W, Pulham was elected Chairman. The reports on scliool abbendanco during tbe past year wore vory satisfactory, Mr La Prelle receiving groat kudos.
The retiring from our district as medical adviser by Dr. Craig, who proceeds bo Gisborne (succeeded by Dr. Smith, of Whangarei), was the cause of Kuaotunu inhabitants presenting him wibh an illuminated address lasb Saturday evening at a smoke concert. Captain Richards occupied tho chair.
