CANADA AND AUSTRALIA.
Sydney, this day,
The" Daily Telegraph," in reply to the instructions received from the Canadian Government by Commissioner Purke, sayß the task will be not eacy, Apart from the facb that our products are mostly raw material, which Canada does nob want, there is another poinb which Canada has nob taken into consideration, viz., that the divided Australian colonies have nob yet) been educated to a Bystem of preferential treatment. Looking at the question from the latter aspect, it is nob at all likely that these colonies, which do Dot even afford the least advance to one another, and especially Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, would favour Canada in the matter of reciprocity. If New South Wales wereto carry JEree trade, there would be no duties to.barter with Canada, who wiould be free to send what goods she can in the hope of a markeb here. . ; \
