AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE.

Thk conference of delegates from the Agricultural Associations in the Auckland province yesterday, proved most interesting, and a 'number of important subjects ware dealt with. The following is the conclusion of our report i— * . Experimental Farms.—The Conference agreed to take no action in establishing experimental farms. Grasses.—The Chairman stated thab Judge Fen ton had bees experimenting with the most suitable grasses for the poor land in the northern part of the Auckland province. He was willing to confer with the Executive on the matter as to results. Mr Clarke stated that if Judge Fenton bad discovered a 'grass that would grow on poor lands of the North n .would prove a great boon.—lt was then agreed that Judge Fenton should be invited to. meet the Executive and the Secretary was instructed to make all arrangements. Agricultorai, Implements.—The action of the Wellington Conference 'was endorsed relative "to the duty on agricultural implements, and a resolution passed, "That in the opinion of the Auckland Conference all machinery, tools, and fencing wire and appliances used in the cultivation of the land should be admitted free of Customs duty."—lb was also agreed. to send a copy of the above resolution to the Auckland members of the. Hpuee of Representatives. FK3T3.T-A resolution was passed "Tbat in bhe opinion of the Conference Acclimatisation Societies and private persons should; nob be allowed to introduce anew animal, bird, insecb or reptile of any kind without first obtaining the consent of the Deparbmenb of Agriculture." . Small Bird Nuisance.—lf: was agreed, ••That in the opinion of this 'meet ing rio increased power is necessary relative to the small bird nuisance." Disposal of Farm PRODtrcE.—The Wade Settlers' Association asked the Conference to devise some better system fpr the disposal of farm produce,—The meefcine thought this was a very pig order. No resolution was passed. Vote of Thanks.—On the motion of Wr Hall a vote of thanks was passed to Mr H. Reynolds for his untiring exertions on behalf of the dairy industry.
