PARNELL.
The regular meeting of tho Parnell Borough Council last ovening was attended by Messrs J. McCabe (Mayor), Briggs, Page, Po'lard, Withy, Walker, Wrighb, Thornes and Gilmour.
Finance and Legal Committee.—On the recommendation of this Commit too it was decided to wait on tho Premier and lay beforo him tho claims of tho bonmgh in regard to tho borough endowments, and requesting that rents be paid on tho whole of the land taken over by the Government for .special settlement purposes. Advertising Hoardings.—ln reference to a complaint mado by Mrs Ireland, of " Hulmo Courb," re an advertising hoarding opposite her premises, which she asked the Council to remove as unsightly, ib was decided to inform Mrs Ireland thab the Council had no control ovor private property or power to interfere. Dust Contract.—For bhis contract the tender of McSholhey, 17s Gd per week, was accepted.
