THE PREMIER'S REPLY.

Wellington, this day. The Premier has taken legal advice on the point raised by Professor Aldis that, being appointed by the Government, he ia responsible to the Government only. The Premier is advised that the Government only acted as agents for the College Council, and have no liability.
