FIRE AT THE THAMES.

Th c first part of our Thames telegram miscarried yesterday afternoon, and the particulars of the lira therein recorded were obviously incomplete. The missing portion of the telegram, which came to hand too late for publication yesterday, was as follows: —"A fire broke oub about noon in the upper storey .of Lowe and Goodwin's (pork butchers) premises in Pollen-streeb Central, and had a very firm hold before discovered. It quickly epread to the shop of Chas. Chilcot b (jeweller), and both were gutted, but by hard work the Fire Brigade managed to confine the flames to those two premises, although thofe adjoining were scorched, and an unoccupied shop, formerly occupied by Mr Dalton, tailor, ot Auckland, waß Borr.ewhab damaged. Lowe and Goodwin were uninsured, and lose £70. Chilcobt'a stock was mostly saved. Ib was insured in the North German for £20.

A six-roomed house, owned and occupied by Cbaa. Otto, was totally destroyed by tire last night. Tho insurances are : Fur* nitare, £45; building, £75 (both in the Norwich Utiiou). The loss considerably exceeds tho iriaurance.--.
