The police had seized a large quantity of beer on tho premises, bub Milonti said in Court ho had bought ib at auction for 6d per dozen for the sake of the bottles, and the beer was all eour and üboloss. The case was adjourned. The Crown did not ask a fresh trial in the case of Miller and Cresswell, and the men wero discharged. Tho woman McGovern will be tried again on Wednosday, The rainfall at Wellington in August was B.2in, being 3in above the average. The pry in Miller and Cresswoll's case of alleged robbery at the Albert Hotel, was locked up till past midnight, and then discharged, as they could not agree. At the Sydney Rifle Meetiner, Wellington will be represented by a team of ten men selected by competition.
