CIVIL SITTINGS.
(Before His Honor Mr Justice Conolly.) John Lawson (Official Assignee in tho bankruptcy or, John Edward Banks) v. Mary Ann Banks.—This was an action that a certain sum of £400 bo declared to be vested in the Official Assignee in the bankruptcy of J. E. Banks.—This case was set down for hearing at 10 o'clock to-morrow morning.
Askh.a.l Bros, and Wilson v. The Puiiipuiti Prospectors Company (Ltd.).— This claim was for £386 13a, value of quartz reduction plant supplied, and was set down lor hearing ab the last Civil Sittings.—On tho application of Mr Campbell, the case was adjourned sine die by consent.
Samuel McMaiion v. Frederick Howard.—This was an action for specific performance of an agreement and for damage.—This case was sot down t.o be heard before a common jury of four.—Mr Baume said tho matter had been settled out of Court, and the case was struck out. Tho jurors summoned were discharged,
Matthew Carroll v. Charles Gardner. —This was for £250 damages foi alleged libel.-—Mr Burton appeared for the plaintill'; Mr S. Heskoth for the defendant.—Mr Hesketh stated that the evidence had been pub before the defendant late on Saturday night and that ho had expressed regret that he had written the libel. He asked that tho case be withdrawn.—His Honor therefore did not enter judgment and the case was withdrawn.
