WELLINGTON RACING CLUB,
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington, Saturday. The annual meeting of the Wellingto 11 Racing Club is to be held on Wednesday* The report states thab ib will be found necessary to reduce tho amount of added money in new season's programmes. The present stewards* are of opinion that to meet this forced curtailment of income, it will be advisable to hold only three race meetings during the year instead of four, making the autumn feature a combined flat and steeplechase meeting, and fixing the date about the end of May. This would also in a measure comply with a generallyoppressed wish of the public that there should bo fewer race meetings in the colony. Tho balance-sheet shows receipts (including £599 brought forward) to have boen £6,900, the principal items being: Entries, £1,209: privileges, £1,200; totalisator (less State tax), £3,401. The expenditure was £6,752, leaving a credit balance of £157. Included in the expenditure was £5,337 for stakes, and £534 for permanent improvements.
