Paris, January 12. M. Eiffel admits having received33,ooo,ooo francs for contracts, and of bbab amounb he only spent 5,000,000 on the works, keeping the balance for himself. It ie reporbed that M. de Freycinet has confessed to receiving 2,000,000 francs from the Panama Canal Company for secret purposes. Tho Panama Canal revelations are wonkening bho closely cordial relations which have lately existed between France.; and Russia.
