BE CRICKET SELECTION.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—When reading in Wednesday evening's issue of the Star the names of cricketers chosen to go into practice for the Wellington match, I could not help being surprised at the omission cf one young player whom I foel certain the Committee have overlooked—a young player who ha 3 proved himself tho mainstay of his club in both batting and bowling during the two seasons he was connected with them as a senior cricketer. Ho is far and away to be prefered to many of the players choson to go into practice. I refer to E. Walton, of the St. Mary-Onslow Cricket Club, and even considering his partial retirement from the game, I think it would bo only fair that Messrs Fowke, Richards and MacCormick should give Mr Walton's name a reconsideration.—l am, etc., An Old Cricketer.
