WRECK AND LOSS OF LIFE.
London, October 19
A terrific gale has been experienced in the English Channel, during which a French brig went ashore on the Isle of Wight. Five of the crew perished. The storm caused considerable damage to the Ramsgate Parade, Kent, a large portion of which was destroyed. Heavy floods have been experienced in many districts in England.
