The team chosen to represent Wellington against Auckland in the football match to be played on Saturday next, under Association rules, left by the Takapuna last nighb. The following cribicism of the team will interesb your readers :— Brown, L. (goal)— Has hardly had enough practice ; must remember to use hands and nob trust to much too bis feeb. Johnston. G. (full-back) —The strongesb and best man in the team, knows the game thoroughly, and is a splendid kick. Shields, T. (full-back) —Good kick, safe, bufc inclined to shove his opponent instead of charging ; must be careful of bh*3. Rushton, E. (half-back) —Very clean kick, clever with hia feet; a great acquisition bo the team, Gamble, H. (half-back) —A young player, promises well; must mind to keep his place and play to his forwards. Henderson, A. (half - back) — A hard worker, very fit player for his side and feeds the forwards well. Lee, H. (centre forward) —An old Rugbyman, formerly of the native team which visited England ; will play well with more practice, bub will have to be quicker on the ball, and remember to shoot at goal hard and low. Leslie, P.D. (left wing)— The best forward in the team, and, if fed well, will score. McKinnon, J. A. (lefb wing) — The lighbesb man in the team, but works hard, and knows his friend's play; is fast for his size. Hagger, XV. (righb wing)— Although a good Rugby man, is promising also as a Association player; vary fast and unselfish ; must be careful not to crowd his own side, and must keep woll forward. Stewart (righb wing)— Has much improved since the Canterbury match. Can play well when he likes, bub musb be careful in his passing.
