MR MILN'S LECTURE.
CITY HALL LAST EVENING.
Mr G. C. Miln gave his lecture on " Church and Stage " for the second time in Auckland last evening in the City Hall. The attendance was not good, probably because most of those who wished to hear the lecture had already had the pleasure on Sunday evening last, when admission was cheap. Mr Miln introduced some new matter into his lecture illustrative of the subject, and was interrupted by frequent and hearty applause.
This evening Mr Miln and hie dramatic company re-appear in the Opera House to play " Julius Csssar." As the prices are very moderate, and school children have special privileges, there should be a fine house to witness this splendid historical play. Mr Miln himself takes the part of Marc Antony. Mr Miln's birthday is to-morrow, when he will be 39 years of age. To-morrow evening he plays " Othello " under the patronage of the Auckland Savage Club ; and as he has made many friends in Auckland there will, no doubt, be a large attendance as a birthday compliment to him, and to wish him " many happy returns of the day."
