WILD WEST SHOW.
■ o ' ii A NOVELTY FOR THE COLONIES. About six or seven weeks ago one of the Messrs Wirth, ,in company with Mr Alexander, the business manager of the firm, {aft Auckland for America for the purpose Of arranging for a Wild West Show to visit the colonies. The firm had been in correspondence with Mr Gaylord on the subiecb for somo time, and being prepared to go to considerable expense in effecting their object, no difficulty was apprehended on. tho subject. Messrs Wirth Brothers are now in receipt of cable messages informing them thab their delegates have successfully carried oub their mission, and that a first-class Wild West Show has been ; organised. It ;is, therefore, quite evident thab no time has been lost in concluding negotiations. The Show comprises all tho features which made Buffalo Bill's caravan so popular in Europe. Thero are bufi'alos, Indians, cowboys, and bronchos, and other minor attractions which constitute the details of a show of thi3 kind. Messrs Wirth Brothers have themselves a splendid stud of horses and ponies, and trained riders, bub whether these will be utilised in connection with the new combination will, we suppose,be a matter for future consideration. The Wild Wosb Show i 3 expected Eere by bha Sepbember mail steamer, and the juvenile portion of the community, a3 well as a large proportion of the elders, will bo delighted to hear thab its first performance in the colonies will be given in Auckland. The principal towns in the South will then be visited, and the Show will probably reach Melbourne about Cup time. If this intention is carried out,-the New Zealand season will be very brief. Five hundred pounds deposib for the passages of the Show has been paid in Auckland, but of course the cost will be very much greater. In the interval before the arrival of the Wild West Show, Wirfch's Circus will conclude their Auckland season, which has been wonderfully successful and will make a short tour of the country districts, excepting Waikato. It is probable, too, that bhey will play here for a week or bwo alter their return. Tho Circus is a splendid one, and deserves the success it has meb with in Auckland.
