JUBILEE FESTIVAL.

A meeting of the Committee for the Jubilee Regatta and sports in Auckland was held last evening in the Mayor's room, City Council offices. : . -

Mr H. Field, Secretary of the New Zealand Rowing Association, wrote as to the eligibility ef members of that body to compete in the Auckland Rowing Regatta, and it was decided to request Mr Field to get) permission from his Association for any Southern crews that wish tb compete in, Auckland.

; A letter from the agent of W.S. Maltby, trick bicyclist, re an exhibition, was referred to the delegates of the Amateur Athletic Club.

Captain Colbeck, Dr. Sanders, Messrs C. Heeketh, Bruford, H. R. George, A. E. D ewes, and D. A. Hay were appointed a sub-committee to revise the Schedule for the Horticultural Show.

Messrs C. C>: JDacre, E. T. Dufaur, and J. F; Hauitain, with power to add to their number, were appointed to control and arrange for the Maori events. ,

A letter from Mr \V. T. -J. Bell, of the Mutual Life Association, offering a valuable trophy lor a yacht race on January 31st under certain conditions, was referred to the Regatta and Yacht Clubs for consideration. '■..'.*

The consideration was deferred of a letter from Mr H. Ellis, of Barotonga, asking that; races might be. set down for the natives coming from the Hervey Group about; Christmas time. These natives consist) of: dancers, oarsmen, and cricketers. '
