DrarEDisr, this day. An agricultural conference is being held, and is largely attended. Mr Bell, of Wantwood, is presiding. The subjects for discussion are: Holding an annual session; Amalgamated Farmers' Union; reduction of railway charges on stock ; abolition of duty on. agricultural implements; amend* ment of the Rabbit Act; intercolonial free trade; San Francisco Service ; tax on en>. tires; establishment of distilleries, and veterinary inspection. The following resolution is to be moved t, —" As some , buyers of dairy produce havfe secured all the shipping in cool chambers! for butter and cheese to London with m view to buying from 'the farmers at their: own price, the industry is now on too large' a scale to allow such hole-and-corner work, and any shipping company encouraging such a scheme should be noted."
