FLAX MANUFACTURE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—-I have read the '' New Zealand Flax Process of Manufacture "in your valuable paper. Having had experience in flax and discovered a method of separating all substance from the fibro over 26 years back, I tried at bhab time to pub things in working order ; but war was declared, and thab knocked flax and gum out of me until I read your paper of the 4th instant. The method is very simple, and only requires to be explained to any ordinary man and put into practice to make ib a success. You will have more good flax, no waste, a superior quality, greater demand, higher prices, . without any extra outlay. During my rambles in foreign countries, I was surprised bo see your flax growing luxuriantly, and the owners of small roots, looking forward to see acres planted out. I kept quiet, and pretended I was ignorant of what the plant was. I found ib was only for ornament in some instances for the present, but the intention is to turn it to account in these countries. Nob a particle of a root should have ever been allowed .to leave your shores alive, and the sooner a heavy penalty is put on roots of flax leaving, the better for "New Zealandersi'i'- Take my hint. What I have seen I believe. The question now for me to ask is, what blessedness will your discoverer receive for the information you so much desire?— Yours, etc., ~;... Rambler.
