THE INSURANCES, Etc.
. The Hawea was valued at £13,000, and was insured for £5,000, viz., £3,000 in the colonial offices, and £2,000 in Home offices. The s. s. Takapuna will probably take up her running. The manager here has made arrangements to have tho passengers brought on by train.
The insurances in the colonial offices are : The National and South British £500 each ' Standard, United, New Zealand, Colonial, and North Queensland £250 each; Victoria, £750.
Tho Secretary of the Post Office has received a telegram from Taranaki that the Hawea struck on a rock while entering the Harbour this morning by keeping too far north. She now lies on her beam ends fur of water. The mails were landed all dry.
