Christchurch, this day.
FOUND DEAD.
Yesterday morning a man respectably dressed, about forty years old, of fair complexion, was found dead under the verandah of the Harbour Board's shed at Dampier's Bay, Lyttelton. His handkercmef was marked "J. Morton." He has not been iden tided.
BISHOP KENNION.
In reference to a cablegram stating that Bishop Kennion has declined the see o* Christchurch, it is announced that the bishopric has not been ofiered to him. The Synod, which has the power of nomination, will not meet till June 21st. Bishop Kennion's refusal must have been in reply to a private communication.
