It is currently rumoured that Mayor Barton intends to resign the mayoral chair. If , true the election for his successor will be keen, the public buildings being the point at issue. HOTEL CHANGES. j Tho Royal Hotel, Hamilton East, is changing hands, tho landlord, Mr Smith, selling to Mr S. Meredith. Mr Smith-is going to Ponsonby Club Hotel. MERCER POLICE STATION. The plans of the new police-station at Mercer are on view at the Post Office/hereTenders close on the 22nd inst.
