Waioimo.
TWO HUNDRED MEN AT WORK.
Encouraging Prospects.
The prospects of the Waiomo goldfield are most encouraging. More than a dozen claims have been pegged off, and there are now about 200 men on the field, "40 of whom are engaged in the erection of a 20-stamper battery for the Paroquet Company. The Paroquet mine, which wae the first discovered in the district, is fully manned. Lourie and Plummer's recent discovery ie called the Golden Rock. It is miles nearer the Thames than the Paroquet. The reef is four feeb thick, and shows free gold of good quality, and it can be treated easily by the old battery process, as there are no complex ores.
