SPORTING NEWS.
According to last week's "Referee" Mr D. O'Brien has decided not to send Sextant over to Melbourne. This has been decided on owing to the superior form shown by Abercorn at the A.J. C. Meeting.
Collins rode Pipi, the winner of the Novel Steeplechase at the Otahuhu races on Saturday, and not Edgecumbe, as printed in last night's issue.
