Hamilton, Monday. At the ordinary meeting of the Waikato County Council on Friday, the only business of importance transacted was relative t_ riding or driving over the county bridges at other than a walking pace under a penalty of £5, and that a special meeting be held on October 28th to confirm the same. The county elections were postponed from the 9th to the 16th in honour of the Prince of Wales's Birthday. Dr. Kenny successfully operated on a little boy named Archie Armstrong, in the Waikato Hospital on Sunday for periostilis in the right leg, the effects of a blow.' The Cambridge Library will benefit to the extent of £15 by the concert given in aid of the funds on Friday night. Notwithstanding the unfavourable . nature of the weather, the entertainment m_s an unqualified success, and great praise is due to Mr Shirley, under Avhose management- the affair was so successfully carriedout.
