CREDITORS' MEETING.
An adjourned meeting took place this morning at the Official Assignee's office of creditors in the estate of William West, when there were present: The debtor, his solicitor, and Messrs Carr, Mason, Saxon (for Lushington), Holroyd, Bartley (Auckland Timber Co.), Johnston (Johnston &Co.), and Swinnerton, The Assignee explained that 2s 6d in the JE was all that he was in a position to offer, on behalf of the bankrupt. After considerable discussion,, which partook of an angry nature, the motion was passed to the effect " That the bankrupt be allowed fourteen days in which to raise £100 towards the estate."

The efforts of the authorities to detect any reign of small-pox on the passengers by the Wakatipa have proved without avail, and aa; the disease from whioh the man was suffering was in its latent stage, it is not believed that the contagion would bo communicated, and that there is no fear of an outbreak.
