POLICE COURT—THIS DAY.
(Before Messrs Rochfort and Smith, Justices.)
Larceny.—John Watson was charged with the larceny of an overcoat of the value of 255, the property of Isaac Bloom.—Defendant pleaded guilty. — Sergeant Pratt stated that Mr Bloom and the witness, Mr Keesing,were of the Jewish faith,and as ibis was their Sabbath he would apply for a remand until Monday. Failino to SurroKT.—A charge against Alex. Neilson of failing bo support his inobher, she being a destitute person, was postponed for a month. Sinn .no and Seamen's Act.—A charge of neglecting to pay engineer's wages, brought against John Chambers, registered owner of the Lalla Rookh, was adjourned until the Bth inst.
Auwiro Larceny. — Herbert Henry Bnrnebb was charged wibh stealing a certain manuscript recipe book of bhe value of £100 bhe property of Theodore Alexander Brunei Piesse.—Mr Hugh Campbell appeared for tho defendant, and Mr Clendon for the prosecutor. — Oil the application of Mr Campbell tho case was adjourned until Friday next.
