Hamilton, this day. . The election for a councillor in the place of Mr Barton, elected Mayor, took place today. The result of the poll was—Hatrick, 83 ; Salmon, 70. The friends of both candidates were veryconfident, and the result is a great surprise.
- Thames, this day. The Thames Football Club have accepted a challenge of the" North Shore to play a match here on Saturday,
