Drunkenness.—Two persons were punished for firsb offences, and John Thackaberry, who was suffering from delirium tremens.wtis remanded for a week for medical treatment. No Excuse —Michael Foley was charged with being? found at night without lawful excuse on the schooner Marion. —Prisoner admitted the charge. It was stated that he was found on board the schooner, and was requested by the sailors to clear out, but refused. He was given into the custody of the police at daybreak.—Seven days' imprisonment.. . False Pretences.—George Wyatt, alias F. J. Bennett,was charged with imposing on one William Robertson by false pretences and thereby obtaining from him a passage from Onehunga to Hokianga. Prisoner smiled blahdly when the charge was read and pleaded guilty. Ib was stated thab prisoner had represented himself to be a brother of Mr Wyatt, of Kaweroa, and that he was possessed of a cheque for L2O. Both these statements proved to be false, and Bennett er Wyatt was brought back from Hokianga and handed over to the police.—Fourteen days with hard labour.
