Tuamks, this day. Narrow Escapo From Drowning. Miss Kate Twohill, daughter of the licensee of tho Brian Born Hotel, had a narrow oscapo from drowning while endeavouring to I'OCOUO anothor young girl named McDonald, who got out of her depth while bathing. Both were unconijcioua whon rescued, but soon recovered.
Resisting tho Police.
A teaman of tho barque Killarnoy, named Victor Kronhnhn, was fined £3, or one month's imprisonment, for resisting the polico when arresting him, and also £1 10s or 4S hours for breaking two windows.
A man named Guorge Pavera! has b6en arrested at Hamilton on a charge of ob raining money under false pretences from Charles Kalman, licensee of tho Empire Hotel.
