Ponsonby v. North Shore.—The return match between tho above Clubs, and the concluding one in tho Senior Cup, programme, took placo at the marine suburb on Saturday, and attracted a large concourso of spectators from both sides of tho water. Thos. Macky captained the Pocsonby team, and W. Wynyard led the North Shore forces. Both teams comprised a number of juniors, principally of the Nelson Club. The play during the earlier half of theflrst spoil was pretty even, North Shore being twice within an ace of scoring, and Pousonby also looking dangerous. After '25 minutes' indecisive play Otway got across North Shore's goal line with the ball, but the try was disallowed for offside play on McKay's part. Immediately afterwards Garadus^Ponßonby) got the ball, and crossing the goal line touched-down. Fisher took the kick at goal, but failed to scoro, although tho attempt ehould have boon easily successful. A short time later Whiteeide took the boll at the half distance, and started off on a capital run, but was brought to earth at the goal lino. Ho managed, howover, just to pass tho ball over the boundary, and the referee haying overruled an objection from Sims (North Shore's umpire) that the ball was doad, McConnell took the kick, but failed to make the ball even rise. In the second spell, Ponsonby kept the play almost exclusively in their opponents' territory, but no further score resulted. Ponsonby therefore won by f&ur points to nothing, while North Shire had also boen forced down throe times. Whiteside, T. Macky, Caradus and Stevenson played particularly well for the victors, while Murphy, Marshall, and Wynyard distinguished themselves in the Shore team.

Possonby v. Grakton.— Those clubs now stand even for the Cup, and the decisivo match between them will be played next Saturday. Both sides will place their strongest team in the field, and the contest ought to be exciting. Grafton is said to be bringing up the two Warbricks from Tauranga'for the struggle. ,
