WELLINGTON, 3 p.m.
Colonel Whitinoie has received the following cable from the Commissioner of the Police; Sydney :—
" Sydney, October G. —Commissioner of Police, Wellington. Offender in custody admits being Jolili Cafl'rey. He also states that Perm and Lizzie Graham were drowned by the capsizing of the boat in attempting to land. " Tho statement, however, is doubted; " A further search is being made ; —Edmoxd Fosberry."
We are informed tbat the South British Insurance Company paid the insurance on the Sovereign of the Seas on the barratry and beforo news was received of the wreck of the vessel. The amount was £80.
