Severe Shocks In the United States.
Sixty Persona Killed.
New York, September I. Very severe shocks of earthquake have been felt along the eastern seaboard, and in Alabama and in this city. The shock was felt the strongest at Augusta and Savannah in Georgia, and at Charleston. At these towns several houses fell, and sixty persons have been killed. CoNSTASTiNoi'LE, September 1. Several severe shocks of earthquake have been experienced at Smyrna. No Eerious damage resulted. Volcanic Eruption In tho Mediterranean. Malta, September 1.
