LETTER RECEIVED FROM LORD
WOLSELEY.
Tho Mahdl Still Threatening Khartoum,

Cairo, November 15. Lord Wolseley telegraphs from Dongola that a letter from General Gordon has arrived at Debbah to-day, but the contonts havo not yot transpired. LATER. Tho letter from Goneral Gordon, received by Lord Wolseley at Dobbah, dated Khartoum, November 4, confirms the news of the massacre of Colonel Stewart, and Messrs Power and Herbin, by tho rebels at Wady-01-Ohomah. Goneral Gordon expresses delight at hearing of the advance of tho British expedition, and hopes to be able to held out until its arrival. He 1 states that ho continues, with steamers, to harass tho enemy whenever they approach Khartoum, und adds that tho Mahdi is only a day's journey distant from that city.
