Later.—lt has been decided to proceed with tho races. Clarence and King Arthur have been scratched for the big ovont, and Surrey for the Maiden Steeplechaso. Maiden Steei-lkchask. Jumbo J Home Rule J Blackbird 3 t Dead heat, Reuter cables that Dirk Hntteraick and Sardius have been scratched for tho Melbourne Cup. At the South Canterbury Jockey Uub Stoeplechaso Mooting yosterday, Mr T. Sheenan's Tho Lad won tho J.C. and Handicap Steeplechases, Mr P. Butler's Muatard tho Hurdles, and Mr Hobbs's Moody tho Consolation.
