T!KE SOUDAN REBELLION,

Five Thousand Soldiers Killed.

Alexandria, November 22,

The force under Hicks Pasha, when the campaign against the Soudan rebels opened some time back, consisting of 8600 infantry, 1400 cavalry, and 4 batteries of artillery. It is not definitely known how many men were directly operating against the enemy prior to the recent defeat, but it is suppofed that fully five thousand were actually engaged in the battle, which resulted in the total annihilation of General Hicks's force.
