Mr Hicks, manager of tho Caledonian Mine, was able this morning to get Into the scene of tho underground firo at No. 1 level and found not a particlo of firo or any smoke, though a good deal of gas was in tho level. He hopes in a day or two to be able to have tho mine quite clear again.
