Insurances.
The Pakeha, at the time of the accident was bound from Kaipara to Dunedin with a cargo of baulk timber for the owners. She was insured in the Victoria office for £1000 half of which was covered by re-insnrance' the National likewise cover half their loss by re-insurance for £250 in the New Zealand.
The vessel was valued at £1300, and formerly belonged to Captain Peterson of * Dunedin. Shejwas of 174 ton sregieter, Captain Boer was married and leaves a wife, but no children.
The first officer was unmarried.
Before leaving port on her last trip Find, ley and Co. spent nearly £700 putting the vessel in repair. They estimate the loss above insurance at £300,
