THE SCHOONER TOREA IN A GALE.
All Hands Washed Overboard, WELLINGTON, thia day. i. The schooner Torea, which left Lyttelton for Kaipara last Friday, put in here during Saturday. A heavy sea swept all hinds 1 on deck overboard. The captain and two others were washed back, but one of tho crew, William Lenason, shipped at Lyttelton, was never seen again. Nearly all the!; sails were split in ribbons, besides other damage. Tbe vessel will remain for a In. 7: days re-fitting. REPORTS BY OTHER VESSELS^ j Tbe steamer Go-Ahead has arrived. She ' left Napier last Tuesday. The captain reports the most severe S.E. gale he ever | experienced. The sails were all split and the cargo damaged. The Ringarooma and Hawea have arrived. Botb encountered tbe toll force of the gale. The Bona, schooner, from Lyttelton to Kaipara, put ia for shelter from the gale. She bos suffered much damage. Captain McKenzie says ii is the heaviest sea ever experienced. She reports /that the schooner Cutty Sark for Auckland left Lyttleton in company.
