CHRISTCHURCH, Satuiday The police here received the following telegram from Soutbbndge this afternoon • —"The brig Pakeha ran ashore on the Ninety-mile Beach, near Lake Ellesmere at 1 o'clock this morning. Several fishermen went to the wreck with boats to render assistance. They found the vessel a total wreck, and that all bands supposed to be seven in number, except one, had been drowned.
