SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN THE KYBER PASS.

A serious accident occurred in the Kyber Pass Road od Saturday evening between ten and eleven o'clock. Mr Geary, of Onehunga, was driving home with his wife, and when just opposite St. Sepulchre's Church two dogs ran out and barked. The horse shied, and backing to the side of the road overturned the cart on the footpath. Both tho occupants wero thrown out, but fortunately Mr Geary escaped unhurt. Upon recovering himself, he proceeded to iaise his wifo, who lay groaning on the roadside. After examination, it was found that her arm was badly broken at tho shoulder; the horses le was also found to be broken, and he was at once shot to put him out of bis misery. Mrs Geary was sent home in a cab. Mr Geary is a poor man, and the loss of his horsu is a serious matter to him. No harm would havo resulted but for the dangerous state of the road at the place indicated ; nnd the Government, upon whom the maintainance of the road devolves, ought to reimburse Geary to tho value of the animal which has been destroyed.
