Murders at Brooker Island.
A Cooktown telegram states that a boat has returned from Lizard Island, and reports the arrival there of tho schooner Annie, from Louisiade Archipelago and Kerepuna, New Guinea—all well. Captain Frier recovered theskullsof Purdie, M'fcae Captain Foreman, and others, of the Aunie Book's party, who were murdered at Honker Island. Tho Kerapuoa natives assembled In immense uuiubcrs, and asuumcdja threatening attitude. Captain Gricr abandoned the intention of landing agaiust overwhelming numbers, and consequently he has no intelligence of the European missionaries. The whole district around Kola aud Keepuna is in a very disturbed state,
