THE EARL GRANVILLE.
The report of the barque Earl Granville, now to hand, shows that the vessel left p.ymouih on November 28th, and pass=d the Lizards same day. Had a fair ran across the Bay of Biscay, and experienced W. to S. weather, witti rain till in the vicinitr o£ Cape Verde Islands. Had no N.K. t-ades, but light N.E. wind. Crossed the Equator on December 29th, in 2740 west, 31 days out. Secured S.H. traces same n ght, and carried them to 5o- S. They were very light. Light northerly winds till eros-ing the meridian Of Greenwich on Januiry 20. In 4160 S., 52 days out, passed south o£ Gough Islund, north of Crozets, and Kerguelen. Here bad much thick weather and northerly winds. After passing Kerguelen, got into sir S., when had Hue •weather and moderate westerly wind. In lat. 4530 S., lon. 153' X,, lost tho westerly winda: afterwards had the wind between E.S K. and N.K. to the Three Kings, which were sighted on February 29 Down the cost E.S.E., and had beat up the harbour. Several concerts were arranged during the passage out in order to enliven the monotony. February 11th, 1880, a son • Mr3 Lathrop, March 2nd, 1880, a son. Deaths: MeynellAlleo, aged one jear, February 2nd, 1880, congestion of the lungs: Gertrude Holmes, aged one year. February Bth, 1880, tabes mesenterica; Henry Maxted, infant. February loth, 1880. convulsions. Accident: Mrs Porter, Matron, fracture of arm.
