The annual mcctiig of ratepayers for this district had to be patponcd for a fortnight owing to the accouits not being ready, a fact of which the ratepayers wore informed by the arrival of thi chairman a very considerable time after the hour at which the meeting was conveted. The ratepayers proceeded to the qustion cf bringiug the Cemeteries Act in fcrcc, and approving of a proposal to do so, appointed Messrs E. Fitzpatrick, Hunt, tilinour, Dickson, and Barklay to carry it oit.
