GOLDEN ARROW G.M. Co., TAIRUA.
The news from this quarter is most encouraging. As is known, the Golden Arrow Company purchased the Prospector's mine and battery at a nominal price. They dispensed with the use of the wire tramway, which was such a bugbear to the old Co., and to which, in a great measure, can be attributed their financial difficulties. A substantial ground tramway iias now been laid down, and will keep the battery constantly employed. The Co. will commence on 200 tons good stui't", estimated at 1 to I.1, o;:s, now in lumper, and have an innncii.se body stripped ready to follow, in addition to which the manager reports: " Nevesville, lltli July. - We have been-taking out remarkably good crushing stuff, it appears to be S to 10 feet wide, of a soft mullocky quartz nature, and gives splendid disli prospects, specimens being picked out of every dishful; in fact, I have not seen a better prospect in the Arrow since it opened.— F. Daykin."
